SBM in collaboration with Islamabad Table Tennis Association (ITTA) has organized an Inter Schools and Colleges Table Tennis Tournament on 26th and 27th August 2022 at Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex, Rawalpindi. The objective of the tournament was to promote sports and recreational activities among youth along with celebrating Independence of Pakistan.
The tournament was categorized as under 15, under 18 and open for all (males and females separate groups) for singles matches while doubles can be mixed (male and female can play together) under each category.
"Entry Fee for under 15 and under 18 was waived off."
The openng ceremony started with recitation of verses from Quran followed by Naat-e-Rasool Maqbool (ﷺ) and National Anthem. While addressing the opening ceremony, Sir Masood Pervaiz, Principal SBM, emphasized that all the educational institutions in Pakistan should promote the sports competitions so that in this digital era, the trend of physical activities and positive thinking can be developed in the young generation and they can get recoginition only in Pakistan but also internationally in the world of sports.
The closing ceremony of the Azadi Cup Table Tennis Championship was held on August 27 at the Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex in which prizes were distributed to the winners and runner ups.
The tournament was spoensored by ACCA, Jang Media Group, Huawei and S & S Builders & Developers.
